Ready to take your road test? Book your appointment and pay your testing fee when you arrive.

Road tests and COVID-19

As of March 17, 2020, all Class 1-8 road tests are suspended until further notice and cancellation fees for these bookings have all been waived.

Every customer that visits an ICBC driver licensing office will be asked COVID-19 screening questions. If a customer responds “yes” to any of these questions or they have travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days, we’ll ask them to return at a later date. We’ll be limiting access to our waiting areas to ensure appropriate social distancing.

For services performed at ServiceBC or appointed agent locations, refer to our office locator for more details.

Knowledge tests and motorcycle skills tests are now available by appointment. You can book your motorcycle skills test online. To book a knowledge test, call 1-800-950-1498 or 250-978-8300.

Passenger vehicles and motorcycles

For passenger vehicle (cars) and motorcycle testing, the earliest date you can take the test is listed on your licence. Try to book well in advance, as our offices can get busy especially during spring and summer.

You can book, reschedule or cancel your appointment online. If you have to cancel, please give us 48 hours’ notice, otherwise there is a $25 cancellation fee.

If you are looking for an earlier appointment, use the online booking tool to check the appointment calendar. As people cancel or reschedule, new appointments may become available. Please note that calling to book or reschedule an appointment will not result in different available times than booking online.

The online booking service performs best on a desktop or laptop computer as some features may not display correctly on a mobile device. If you’re not able to book online, you can call us at one of the numbers listed below to book by phone and we will help you find an available time.

Motorcycle road or skills tests are only available at certain locations. Call us at one of the numbers listed below to confirm.
